Al Hudaydah .. Houthi leader cancels all contracts for the sale of real estate since 2016 and is required to approve them

A leader in the Houthi militia, impersonating the governor of Hodeidah, issued a decision to cancel all contracts for the sale and purchase of real estate in the governorate retroactively until 2016, provided that his direct signature is obtained to approve any sale or purchase deal.
An official document obtained that the Houthi leader "Abdullah Abdo Atifi", who is the "Governor of Hodeidah" appointed from the Houthis, directed a circular to all official and private institutions and bodies, requires the cancellation of all real estate contracts concluded since 2016 unless his signature and the signing of the group’s lands authority.
The guidance, any sale or purchase, is considered to be signed by null and illegal, stressing that all previous contracts files are canceled and unrecognized.
This decision comes within the framework of a systematic Houthi campaign to control the real estate sector in Hodeidah, where the governorate is witnessing extensive acquisitions on land and buildings, in parallel with forced displacement that included thousands of population in the areas of Al -Duraimi, Al -Jarrah, Al -Tahita, and the city of Hodeidah.
According to local sources, these measures aim to reshape the population and social map in the city, and to build residence loyal to the Houthis, similar to the "southern suburb" established by the "Lat Party" in Lebanon.
This step is also a dangerous escalation within the series of continuous Houthi violations against the residents of Hodeidah, and a flagrant attack on private property rights, amid continuous international silence towards the Houthi practices targeting Yemeni society in their areas of control.
