Discover a hidden relationship between hearing and heart health

A recent study by Chinese researchers revealed a disturbing relationship between hearing impairment and an increase in the risk of heart failure.
The results concluded that the psychological pressures caused by hearing problems play a major role in this relationship. The study relied on the analysis of the data of 164431 participants from the British Biological Bank, who underwent accurate hearing tests that measure their ability to distinguish speech amid noise.
During the follow -up period that spanned more than 11 years, the researchers noted that people who suffer from hearing impairment - especially those who need a higher voice to understand speech - were more likely to develop heart failure in rates ranging between 7% for simple weakness and 16% for severe weakness. The paradox is that these results remained constant even after taking into account the traditional factors affecting the heart of the heart.
The study highlighted the pivotal role of psychological factors in this equation, as it found that hearing impairment often suffer from chronic psychological stress as a result of communication difficulties, which leads them to social isolation and increase levels of anxiety and tension. This crisis psychological state launches a series of biological responses, such as high blood pressure and increased tension -related hormones, which exhaust the heart in the long run and increase the possibility of its failure.
These results raise important questions about the need to review health care programs, as they indicate that routine hearing examinations may be an important preventive tool for early detection of people at risk of heart disease.
It also highlights the need for integrated programs that take into account the psychological aspects of the hearing impaired, not only to improve the quality of their lives, but also to protect their hearts from serious complications.
In light of the prevalence of hearing problems among the elderly in particular, this study comes to remind us of the deep interdependence between the different organs of the body, and that caring for the ear health may be a gateway to protect the heart. This holistic vision of health opens new horizons to prevent heart disease that remains one of the main causes of death around the world.
