The Geological Survey Authority denies the existence of any uranium or gold in Al -Dhalea Governorate

The Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority confirmed, in an official statement issued on Sunday, that there are no scientific indicators or documented studies that prove the presence of uranium or gold materials in Al -Dhalea governorate, including the Wadi Al -Qahra area in the Al -Shuaib district, which was circulated in any media in some media.
The authority explained that the official geological records, including maps and studies preserved in its information bank, do not include any indications of the presence of deposits of uranium or gold in the region. Also, the geological nature of the rocks of Al -Dhalea, which is mainly made of volcanic formations dating back to the triple age, does not fall within the geological environments that usually host uranium or gold materials of economic value.
The commission warned that the allegations recently published about “huge discoveries” in the Al -Qahra Valley lack any scientific basis, confirming that the evaluation of mineral wealth requires specialized and comprehensive studies conducted by experts in the fields of economic geology, geodic analysis, and geophysics, using advanced techniques, not through individual observations or statements.
The authority concluded its statement by emphasizing that the circulation of such inaccurate information would mislead public opinion and harm scientific confidence, calling on the media and those interested to refer to the competent authorities when dealing with issues related to internal wealth.
