The first comment by the UN envoy on the American strikes in Ras Issa Port

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grendburg, expressed today, Sunday, his concern about the American air strikes that targeted the port of Ras Issa in Al -Hodeidah Governorate, calling for restraint and reducing escalation.
Grendberg said in an official statement: “In line with the statements of the Secretary -General of the United Nations, I express my deep concern about the impact of American air strikes on civilians, especially truck drivers and workers in the port, as well as on the civil infrastructure in the region.”
He added: "The continuation of the attacks by the Ansar Allah group in the Red Sea, and the American raids in response to it, threatens to undermine efforts to bring peace, and increases the danger of Yemen slipping towards a broader regional conflict."
The UN envoy again emphasized the importance of restraint, reducing tensions, and ensuring the protection of civilians and civil facilities, in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Grendberg pointed out the need to reach reliable guarantees to stop the attacks in the Red Sea, warning of the dangers of turning it into an open and long -term conflict scene, which threatens global security and keeps Yemen from the path of peace.
Grendberg concluded by emphasizing his commitment to working with all parties to support permanent peace achievement efforts in Yemen.
