Abyan: "Pores" damage more than 4 thousand ammunition in a qualitative process in Wadi Duvis

The “Mass” project to remove mines in Yemen carried out a wide destruction process in the Duvis Valley area of the Zanzibar district, Abyan Governorate, which resulted in the destruction of 4,146 pieces of war waste, in one of the largest qualitative operations carried out by the first special task team, as part of its continuous efforts to protect civilians and secure polluted areas.
The ammunition that was destroyed included: 21 152 mm shells, 35 85 mm shells, 33 mortar shells of the same caliber, and 31 100 mm shells. 1,200 7.62 mm rounds, 500 rounds of 50 mm, 2000 rounds of "miny", were destroyed, along with 261 fosses, 31 hand grenades, 15 super shells, 10 anti -tank mines, and 9 anti -personnel mines.
Eng. Munther Qassem, the leader of the special missions team, explained in a special statement that the operation was carried out in a safe site far from residential and agricultural areas, and according to international standards approved in this field. He added:
“The work of private missions teams does not stop throughout the year, every task we accomplish contributes to protecting the lives of innocent people. We cannot delay any process related to the removal of a threat to civilian lives. Noting that this task was carried out despite the difficult climatic conditions and high temperatures, which reflects the commitment and dedication that the team has.”
The importance of this process comes due to the nature of the targeted area, the fact that the Doves Valley is one of the vital agricultural areas on which thousands of families depend on its livelihood. In light of the decline in the international humanitarian response, "pores" constitutes an effective model for the field intervention that creates the land for the return of life, and restores hope for local societies in an environment free of fear and deferred death.
