Trump: The Houthis showed great courage and endured our strikes on them

In new press statements, US President Donald Trump said that the United States has achieved "good results" in dealing with the Houthi group, praising their pledge not to launch attacks on ships in the Red Sea, and stressing that his country respects this promise.
Trump said that the Houthis "showed great courage and ability to endure the harsh strikes we directed to them" again, as he confirmed the respect of their promise not to attack the ships again.
This came after a sudden announcement by US President Donald Trump, on Tuesday evening, in which he confirmed that the United States will stop the air strikes immediately against the Houthis, noting that the group informed Washington that it "does not want to fight anymore."
Trump said in his statements: "The Houthis said yesterday that they no longer want to fight, and this is good news," adding: "I accept their speech and decided to stop the bombing immediately."
Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman announced the success of the intensive mediation efforts it made between the United States of America and its description of the "relevant authorities in Sanaa", a reference to the Houthi coup militias affiliated with Iran.
The spokesperson for the Omani Foreign Ministry explained that the continuous discussions and communications conducted by the Sultanate with the two parties with the aim of achieving a reduction in the escalation resulted in reaching an important agreement to a ceasefire between the two sides.
He said that this agreement represents a positive step towards calming the strained conditions in the region and opening the way for comprehensive peace efforts.
He praised the constructive role that the Sultanate of Oman played in bringing the views and creating the appropriate conditions to reach this agreement.
He expressed his hope that the two parties will abide by the terms of the agreement and that this endowment will be the beginning of a new stage of the constructive dialogue that leads to a sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
For his part, the spokesman for the Houthi group, Mohamed Abdel Salam Fili, said that contacts with Washington did not come from the Houthis, but rather “we received requests from the Americans through the mediation of the Sultanate of Oman, and we have not made any request at all,” considering that the American statements about “surrender” mean only “impotence and failure”, according to his description.
On the ongoing understandings, he pointed out that "the American position is still under evaluation, and not to be just statements, any American return to the aggression will meet a similar response."
The Trump administration had launched, in mid -March, a massive military campaign against the Houthis, which it said aimed at limiting their capabilities and preventing them from targeting international navigation in the Red Sea.
