A huge fire broke out today, in Hadramout Governorate, a large workshop for commerce and furniture work in the "Tarim" area, which resulted in severe material losses without registering human injuries.

Citizens said that the flames had escalated from the workshop heavily, amid attempts to put out the fire before the arrival of the civil defense teams that rushed to the place after receiving reports from the citizens.

A source in the civil defense in the city of Tarim confirmed that "the fire is a result - according to preliminary information - on an electrical contact inside the workshop," adding that the firefighting teams managed to control the fire after extensive efforts that lasted for hours, and prevented the extension of the fire to the neighboring stores.

The source added: “We call on the owners of workshops and commercial stores.

The security services have begun to open an urgent investigation to determine the full causes of the accident, while the damage is being inventory and the evaluation of losses.
