The decline of requests is forced the central to postpone the cash auction in Aden

In an unexpected step, the Central Bank of Yemen - Aden announced the postponement of the auction of the sale of foreign currency No. (14-2025), which was scheduled to be held today, Monday, May 19, 2025.
The decision came in response to the request of the participating banks after a noticeable decrease in the volume of applications submitted.
The Central Bank stated in an official statement that the auction is postponed due to the low percentage of requests from commercial banks, indicating that the auction will be postponed to a later date that will be announced at the time.
This procedure is an indication of remarkable changes in the local banking market, amid widespread anticipation of the upcoming steps of the Central Bank to control the exchange market and achieve monetary stability in light of the difficult economic conditions that the country is going through.
