Activists circulated widely through social media platforms, videos and horrific pictures showing the massive destruction of Sana'a International Airport due to the Israeli raids that targeted it this evening, Tuesday.

The pictured footage showed flames rising from Yemeni Airlines aircraft that were coded at the airport, while the airport lounge and other facilities seemed to have severe and widespread damage, as parts of it turned into rubble.

This comes after the Israeli entity claimed responsibility for targeting Sanaa airport, claiming that it was implemented for 17 air strikes at the airport.

The Israeli army spokesman claimed that the airport was used by the Houthi group for "terrorist purposes", as he put it, without providing additional details about the nature of these alleged uses.

On the other hand, no official comment from the Houthi group has yet been issued on these allegations or about the size of the losses and damages caused by the Israeli raids.

Yemeni Airlines in Sana'a announced the suspension of all its flights to and from the airport until another notice as a result of the bombing.

The company’s office in Aden also directed the accommodation of passengers stranded in Amman and facilitate the return of those wishing to them for free.
