The UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grendberg, is scheduled to provide a briefing on the UN Security Council tomorrow, Wednesday, at 5:00 pm Yemen time (14:00 GMT).

The briefing will focus on the latest developments and developments taking place in the Yemeni scene, and the international efforts made to achieve peace and end the conflict.

The UN envoy recently intensified his meetings with the regional and international parties concerned with the Yemeni affairs, in an attempt to mobilize support for peace efforts and push the political process forward. These meetings included officials from neighboring countries and permanent members of the Security Council.

Grendberg continued to communicate with the various Yemeni parties, including the Yemeni government and the Houthi group, to discuss ways to overcome obstacles to resuming the comprehensive political process.

The UN envoy made intense mediation efforts to deal with recent field developments, including military escalation in some areas and human impacts resulting from it, in an effort to calm the situation and create a favorable environment for dialogue.

Grendburg was a special interest in the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, and urged the parties to facilitate the access of humanitarian aid to the beneficiaries, and discussed with relief organizations ways to enhance the humanitarian response.

It is expected that Grendberg's briefing before the Security Council will include an assessment of the current situation in Yemen, the members of the members of its recent endeavors, and to provide his vision on the upcoming steps to move the parked peace process.
