The Board of Directors of the Arab Sea Ports discuss the development of ports and digital transformation at its eighth meeting in Mukalla

The Board of Directors of the Yemen Arab Sea Ports Corporation held its eighth meeting in the city of Mukalla, during the 19th and 20th of May 2025, headed by Eng. Salem Ali Bassemir, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in the presence of representatives of the relevant ministries and local authorities, and a number of directors of departments in the institution.
The meeting was devoted to discussing the developments of institutional performance during the first chapter of this year, reviewing the completion reports and operational challenges, in addition to following up the implementation of the decisions of the seventh meeting held in 2024 AD.
The Council also reviewed the investment program, financial reports, and ship movement statistics during the first chapter of 2025 AD, as well as development plans in the digital aspects, foremost of which is the “One Window” project to facilitate procedures, and the Foundation’s efforts to preserve marine locomotives through periodic maintenance programs.
The meeting discussed future projects in Qena Port and the Port of Khalafout, and plans to develop and improve an active port, as well as the initiatives to shift to solar energy in operational operations, in a way that enhances sustainability and is in line with modern trends.
The Council issued a number of recommendations aimed at enhancing the level of institutional performance, raising the efficiency of services, improving the administrative, financial and technical structure.
The meeting was attended by Professor Fouad Tayseer Al -Rabaki, Vice -Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Al -Khidr Ali Mohamed, representative of the Ministry of Transport, Engineer Amin Saeed Barziq, representative of the local authority in Hadramout, Professor Ahmed Salem Khairan, representative of the local authority in Shabwa Governorate, Mr. Abdel -Alim Ahmed Issa, representative of the Governor of Socotra, Professor Mukhtar Muhammad bin Awaid, representative of Al -Mahra Governorate, Professor Anwar Awad Al -Jaidi, representative of the Ministry of Finance Representative of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs in Hadramout, along with a number of directors of departments in the institution.
