The company, “Zodiac Maritim”, announced the shipping ship “Morning Midas”, the creation of its entire crew after a fire on board out of control off the coast of Alaska.

The ship that raises the flag of Liberia was carrying 3000 vehicles, including 800 electric cars, when the smoke was observed from its surface.

The 22nd crew of the ship succeeded in the safe evacuation through a Najat boat, then they moved to a commercial ship nearly in coordination with the American Coast Guard.

The afflicted ship is 483 km southwest of the island of Adac, where the rescue teams continue attempts to control the fire.

The ship had left the Chinese port of Yantai on May 26, heading to Mexico. The incident comes at a time when the marine shipping industry is a worrying increase in ship fires, especially the carrier of electric vehicles, where insurance reports expect to record the highest accident rates in ten years.

Allianz indicated in a recent report to the complexities of extinguishing large ship fires, which increases the risks in this sector. The ship's insurance company has not issued any official comment on the accident so far.
