A simple and common habit that may lead to baldness

Health and hair care experts discuss a set of daily habits that affect the health of the scalp and hair quality.
Among these customs, the issue of sleep is highlighted with wet hair as one of the behaviors that sparked widespread controversy between both specialists and people.
In this regard, a specialist doctor warned of the dangers of sleeping with wet hair, indicating that this habit may lead to hair loss and baldness over time.
Dr. Surab Sethi, who holds a certificate from Harvard University, participated in his warning via a video on "Tek Tok" and "Instagram", where he explained that moisture in the scalp creates an ideal environment for the growth of fungi and bacteria, which may cause dandruff or sebaceous dermatitis, which leads to itching and peeling.
He explained that sleeping with wet hair weakens the strands and makes them more likely to break, in addition to other problems that may affect the health of the scalp.
The doctor, who has more than 1.1 million followers on "Instagram", stressed that sleeping with wet hair increases the strain of hair as a result of sleep fluctuations, which leads to its breakage, wrinkling and thinning gradually. Therefore, he advised to dry the hair before bed even if it is a quick drying of the dryer, considering that this step makes a big difference in hair health.
Many followers interacted with this warning, as some participated in their personal experiences, among them the problems of unpleasant smell resulting from sleeping with wet hair, and others confirmed that this habit stopped after watching the video.
Besides hair loss, experts pointed out that sleeping with wet hair may contribute to the emergence of skin problems such as acne, especially when sleeping on a wet pillow or those that contain the remains of hair products, which creates a wet and oily environment that blocks the pores and increases inflammation.
They explained that keeping clean and dry hair away from the face during sleep, helps reduce these healthy risks associated with skin and hair.
