The Houthis prevent the teaching of English before the fourth grade

The Houthi group issued, on Wednesday, a decision to prevent the teaching of the English language in public and private schools before the fourth grade in the areas under its control.
The decision issued by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research of the Houthi government is not recognized internationally, by limiting the teaching of the English language in the first stage on the fourth to the sixth basic classes, provided that its teaching is prohibited in the first three grades in all schools, including private schools and the like.
It is mentioned that this decision comes in a broader context of comprehensive changes implemented by the group in the curricula, which included the introduction of sectarian contents that glorify the leaders of the group and promote its idea, in addition to deleting content related to the September 26 revolution that established the Republican system in Yemen.
