A simple home test that evaluates your health condition

Measurement of movement and flexibility is an important indicators in assessing the general health of individuals, as it plays a major role in determining the level of self -reliance and quality of life.
The interest has recently increased in developing simple and effective tests that help in evaluating these capabilities, to provide accurate information about the possible health risks in the long run.
In this regard, a recent study demonstrated that the inability to advance the land without assistance is a strong indication of the increased risk of death during the next ten years.
In the study conducted in Brazil at more than 4000 adults between 46 and 75 years (about 15.5% of them died after 12 years, often due to heart disease, cancer and respiratory diseases), the participants were asked to go to the ground from the standing position and then rely on the lowest possible support, such as using hands or furniture or helping another person.
The performance of each participant was evaluated on a scale from zero to 5 for each position (sitting and standing), and the final degree was calculated by their collection, so that the higher degree indicates a better self -movement ability.
The results showed that people who were able to sit and stand without help were less likely to die due to heart disease or other natural causes six times during the next decade compared to those who need support or suffer from movement weakness.
Each decrease in one point in the degree has been associated with an increase in the risk of death by about a third, whether due to heart disease or natural causes such as lung cancer.
Researchers believe that this strength and flexibility test reflects muscle health and vital functions, such as lowering blood pressure and heart rate during rest and reducing infections, which contributes to reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
The main researcher, Dr. Claudio Jel Araojo, explained that this test combines several important factors such as strength, flexibility and balance, which makes it an inclusive and effective indication of the health of individuals in the long run.
The researchers advised the necessity of taking this test under the supervision of a specialist or the presence of a partner that helps in confirmation, especially for people with joint problems to avoid injuries.
In light of these results, experts emphasize the importance of seeing a doctor periodically to assess public health and risk factors related to chronic diseases.
